Neoprene is a synthetic rubber often used in aquatic gear. It is very good at insulating but also breathable. Neoprene swim caps are perfect for cold or open water swims and popular with triathlon athletes. Because of their special intended use, they cost nearly three times as much as a typical swimming cap.
