Swimmers have been using the latex swim cap for years. They are much less expensive than their silicone counterparts, but aren't an option for people with allergies to the material.
Putting on a latex swimming cap could be compared to putting a ballon on your head, though the swim cap will be thicker. A lot of swimmers swear by latex, but competitors often prefer silicone. Which one you prefer is often a matter of preference.
